鶹ý Professor Named MTNA Distinguished Composer of the Year
Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) named Dr. Benjamin Krause, associate professor of music at 鶹ý, as its Thomas Ediger Distinguished Composer of the Year for his composition, Spaces Real or Imagined. Krause was recognized at the 2026 MTNA National Conference in Chicago, held March 21–25, where he performed his piece in concert on piano along with clarinetist Gary June, a West Michigan composer and educator. This was Krause’s second time being honored, receiving the first award in 2019. Krause teaches composition and theory at 鶹ý.

Hope Orchestra Celebrates Nicene Creed Anniversary During Nov. 7 Hymn-Sing Concert
As part of 鶹ý’s celebrations marking the 1,700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed, the 鶹ý Orchestra will present a special Hymn-Sing concert on Friday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts, Concert Hall. The public is invited. Admission is free.

鶹ý will host “The Gift of Music: A Memorial Tribute to David P. Roossien” on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 7 p.m. at the Jack H. Miller Center for the Musical Arts.
鶹ý Choirs to Perform an Outdoor Concert on Sept. 26
The 鶹ý choirs will perform on Friday, Sept. 26, at 5 p.m. in the Pine Grove on the central campus. The concert will feature the Chapel Choir, SPERA, VERITAS and College Chorus, as well as vocalists and instrumentalists from the college’s Department of Music.
