鶹ý Professor Named MTNA Distinguished Composer of the Year

Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) named Dr. Benjamin Krause, associate professor of music at 鶹ý, as its Thomas Ediger Distinguished Composer of the Year for his composition, Spaces Real or Imagined. Krause was recognized at the 2026 MTNA National Conference in Chicago, held March 21–25, where he performed his piece in concert on piano along with clarinetist Gary June, a West Michigan composer and educator. This was Krause’s second time being honored, receiving the first award in 2019. Krause teaches composition and theory at 鶹ý.

鶹ý Presents Acclaimed Organist David Briggs on Nov. 04

鶹ý will welcome world-renowned organist David Briggs for a recital on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts. The public is invited and admission is free. There will be a pre-concert lecture at 6 p.m. in the Howard Recital Hall.

鶹ý Choirs to Perform an Outdoor Concert on Sept. 26

The 鶹ý choirs will perform on Friday, Sept. 26, at 5 p.m. in the Pine Grove on the central campus. The concert will feature the Chapel Choir, SPERA, VERITAS and College Chorus, as well as vocalists and instrumentalists from the college’s Department of Music.

鶹ý will host a unique performance featuring Russian pianist Vyacheslav Gryaznov, showcasing his work with his own G-Phil project, on Wednesday, May 14, at 7 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.
