鶹ý, Outdoor Discovery Center Host Event to Help Protect Local and Migratory Birds
As spring migration season approaches, 鶹ý will host “Hope Takes Flight,” a free event on Thursday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m., to offer insights about local and migratory birds and present simple, easy solutions to protect birds in our community.
鶹ý Knickerbocker Theatre to Host 20th Annual Fly Fishing Film Tour on April 15
鶹ý Knickerbocker Theatre is hosting the 20th Annual Fly Fishing Film Tour (F3T) on April 15 at 7 p.m. Part of a national tour, the evening features several short movies revolving around fly fishing. Doors open at 6 p.m. and attendees can expect exclusive giveaways, a cashless bar and the kind of camaraderie that only fly fishing can inspire.
鶹ý Students Host 24-Hour Annual Dance Marathon to Benefit Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital
Hope students are ready to roll – and rock – for the 26th annual 24-hour Dance Marathon at the Dow Center on campus, planning to raise more than $300,000 for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
鶹ý to Host Unified Hope vs. Faculty Basketball Game March 10
鶹ý’s Unified Hope student organization, a Special Olympics Michigan chapter, will host its first Unified Hope vs. 鶹ý faculty/staff basketball game on Tues., March 10, at 7 p.m. in the DeVos Fieldhouse. This event is free and open to the public.
Remembering Professor Fred Johnson
The 鶹ý community is deeply mourning the loss of Professor Fred Johnson III, a beloved history department faculty member, who passed away peacefully Feb. 27 after suffering a cardiac arrest last week.

Hope Celebrates World Water Day With Community Events
鶹ý is recognizing World Water Day with lectures and poster presentations hosted by its Global Water Research Institute, March 19–20.
“Tolkien, Technology and Magic” Is Theme of March 11 Lecture
The Saint Benedict Institute will host speaker Dr. Bradley Birzer, professor in history at Hillsdale College and fellow of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, to speak on technological themes in the work of J.R.R. Tolkien.
鶹ý Remembers Longtime Supporter & Alumnus George Boerigter
鶹ý mourns the loss of George D. Boerigter ’61 — a dedicated alumnus, generous supporter and transformative philanthropist — who passed away on Feb. 23, 2026, in Holland, Michigan. He was 87.
鶹ý International Students Host Annual Food Fair on Feb. 28
The annual International Food Fair at 鶹ý will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 6–8 p.m. in the Bultman Student Center on Hope’s campus.

Knickerbocker Theatre Presents Two International films March 2-7 and March 16-21
The 鶹ý Knickerbocker Theatre in downtown Holland concludes its winter film series with the beautiful Italian film “Trifole,” screening March 2-7 and the Iranian film, “The President’s Cake,” March 16-21, both at 7 p.m.
Sen. Chang Presents Women’s History Month Lecture on March 16 at Hope
Michigan Senator Stephanie Chang, the first Asian-American woman elected to the Michigan legislature, will present a lecture titled “Identity, Activism and Advancing Change for Women and Girls,” during 鶹ý’s annual Women’s History Month lecture. Sen. Chang will address audiences on Monday, March 16 at 3:30 p.m. in the recital hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts. The public is invited and admission is free.

The 鶹ý Economics and Business Department invites the West Michigan business community for a free dinner and evening of networking and strategic partnership conversations on Thursday, March 5 at the Haworth Hotel in downtown Holland.
鶹ý Department of Theatre to Produce “Night Witches”
The 鶹ý Department of Theatre will present Rachel Bublitz’s “Night Witches” on Feb. 20-21 and 26-28 at 7:30 p.m., along with 2 p.m. matinees on Feb. 21-22 and March 1. All performances will be held in the DeWitt Studio Theatre, located in the DeWitt Student & Cultural Center on Hope’s campus.
Truth Unites Founder Dr. Gavin Ortlund To Speak at 鶹ý as part of Nicene Creed Anniversary Programming
Hope is extending its recognition of the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed into 2026, hosting a unique and free event on Thursday, Feb. 26 at Dimnent Chapel that will include a lecture by Dr. Gavin Ortlund of Truth Unites, a congregational hymn and Q&A with 鶹ý President Matt Scogin.
Hope Designated as “Top Producing Institution” of Fulbright U.S. Students
The Fulbright Program recognized 鶹ý for being one of 96 colleges and universities nationwide with the highest number of students and recent alumni selected for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.
鶹ý Presents the Donia Organ Recital Featuring the Chenault Duo
The 鶹ý Department of Music is pleased to present its annual Donia Organ Recital featuring the internationally acclaimed Chenault Duo with Elizabeth and Raymond Chenault, on Tuesday, February 10, at 7 p.m. at the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.
