Carlos Andr茅s 鈥淐harly鈥� Pe帽a joined 麻豆传媒官网 in November 2022 as the chaplain of global ministry and media integration. He serves within Campus Ministries, focusing on spiritual formation, global ministry, media and intercultural engagement. He is an ordained minister in the Reformed Church of America and enjoys walking alongside students as they grow in their faith, discover their gifts and explore how God is calling them to serve in the world.

Previous Experience

Before joining Hope, he served for 10 years as a worship director with the church-planting team of his home church from Colombia, helping establish two campuses in Miami and Boca Raton, Florida.

His passion for the performing arts led him to work as an actor and voice-over artist for NBC Telemundo Espa帽ol. He later transitioned into television and film production, producing short films for YesHeis.com Espa帽ol, a Christian global ministry based in Miami.

He also served for five years with Our Daily Bread Ministries in Grand Rapids as the Spanish voice for its daily audio devotional, distributed through Christian radio stations throughout Latin America. During this season, he also served as a bilingual English-Spanish worship director with Intersection Ministries in Holland, Michigan.

Why I love Hope

Charly loves Hope because of its relational, caring and supportive community and its commitment to educating students academically while also grounding them in biblical principles and values that point them to Jesus.

He especially appreciates Hope鈥檚 celebration of different nationalities and cultures and its desire to create spaces where diversity can flourish across campus. This reminds him of the vision in Revelation 7:9, where people from 鈥渆very nation, tribe, and language鈥� gather before the throne and worship the Lamb. For him, Hope offers a glimpse of that beautiful picture of God鈥檚 kingdom.

Outside the College

Charly has been married to Diana Fonseca-Pe帽a for 28 years. Together, they have three daughters, Emily, Angela and Viviana, and one grandson, Ren Leonardo.

He enjoys movies, cinematic music and salsa music, as well as sports 鈥� especially soccer, volleyball, tennis and snowboarding. He also loves meeting new people and connecting with people from different countries and cultures.
