Organizational behavior expert Dr. Tae-Yeol Kim joined the Department of Economics and Business after teaching for 14 and a half years at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in Shanghai (a graduate school of business and finance ranked by the Financial Times as the best MBA program in Asia and the #2 executive MBA program in the world).

At Hope he teaches the upper-level management seminar Leadership and Service in a Global Society.

Dr. Kim’s research on leadership, creativity, proactivity and the fit between a person and their environment in a business context has been published in leading academic journals including the Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies and Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes. His 2020 book, The 4th Industrial Revolution and Leadership, was honored in 2020 by the National Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea as one of the best books published in a social science in 2019–2020.

He is an associate editor of the Journal of Business Ethics and serves on the editorial boards of four other journals, including the Journal of Management and Journal of Organizational Behavior. For six years (through 2024) he also served as an associate editor of Human Relations.

Before joining the faculty of CEIBS, Dr. Kim taught in the management department of CityUniversity of Hong Kong. He joined the Hope faculty in 2025.
