Krista Beukema joined the Campus Ministries team in January 2025. As the coordinator of mission and immersion, Krista seeks to curate a transformative, student-led immersion program that expands students’ worldviews, deepens their Christian faith through community and ignites their sense of personal calling. Krista also mentors student leaders in Hope on Mission, an initiative that mobilizes students to serve the local community.

  • M.Ed., curriculum and instruction/ESL, Middle Tennessee State University, 2014
  • B.A., deaf education/special education, Ball State University, 2009

Previous Experience

Krista has been active in the field of global missions since 2012, when she moved to Jamaica to work as a Deaf educator with the Caribbean Christian Centre for the Deaf. After 6 years, her family moved back to their hometown in Zeeland, from which time she has been active in the role of missions mobilization and mentorship.

Why I Love Hope

Even though she is not a Hope grad, Krista has recognized Â鶹´«Ã½¹ÙÍø as a cornerstone of the Holland community throughout her childhood, with memories of attending Chapel gatherings as a teenager for worship. She is thrilled to be a part of a community that is following hard after Jesus and educating students for lives of leadership and service around the globe.

Outside the College

Krista has been married to her high school sweetheart, Ben, since 2009. Ever since, they have loved their adventures of living abroad, having twins, and full-time ministry! There is never a dull moment in the Beukema house, with Graham and Clara now middle-school aged and their third, Miles, finishing up elementary school. Krista’s favorite days usually involve a family hike, time by the water and a good yoga session.
